We record each bass with a moderate eq boost on their onboard preamps to optimize each instrument's tonal character, and plugged in straight to our "sound card", without running the basses through an amp.
This way, the sound is kind of tight and dry, but with so many different types of bass amps around, we feel it is better to give you as much a true rendition as possible, without any external eq or compression.
